India High Commission made demarche to Australian govt. about ‘offensive’ lamb ad

The High Commission of India in Australia (Canberra) “have made a demarche to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Department of Communication and Arts and Department of Agriculture bringing to their notice an offensive advertisement by Meat and Livestock Australia that hurt the religious sentiments of the Indian community”, according to its release.

Hindus call Taiwan’s proposed curbs on incense a ‘religious infringement’

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that incense restrictions would be an unnecessary obtrusion on Hindu devotees, who had been waving incense in front of the images of deities for ages as an act of homage to the divine manifestation.

Hindus urge UNESCO to deny Japan’s Okinoshima Island heritage status unless women allowed on it

Hindus are urging the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, whose 41st session is meeting in Krakow (Poland) on July 2-12, not to endorse Okinoshima Island of Japan for the World Heritage Site status, unless women are also permitted on this Island.
