Hindus commend Taiwan for electing 1st female president

Hindus have commended Taiwan for electing its first female President.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, warmly congratulated Taiwan President-elect Tsai Ing-wen on election victory, thus creating history of becoming Taiwan’s first woman President.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, welcomed Tsai’s pledge of cooperation with other political parties. She should now deliver on changes she campaigned for and on the promises made, Zed noted.

Rajan Zed further said that Tsai’s election had raised new hope and was a significant step for gender equality. Zed hoped that Tsai would successfully address various pressing challenges faced by Taiwan; including struggling economy, widening wealth and opportunity gap, transparency in government, red-tapism, bringing back businesses & job creation; and promote innovation.
