Toyota Motor Philippines marked a major step in its electrification push as it unveiled the all-new bZ4X, its first full battery electric vehicle under the Toyota marque. Early customers received their units during the rollout, signaling Toyota’s shift toward broader BEV availability in the country.

The company said the launch builds on more than a decade of groundwork, starting with the Prius hybrid in 2009 and expanding to a 22-model electrified lineup across Toyota and Lexus.

The bZ4X arrives as an all-wheel drive model equipped with a 73.11 kWh lithium-ion battery and dual motors. Toyota rates the vehicle for up to 570 kilometers of range under UN standards, with Eco and X-Mode drive settings designed for varied road conditions.

Its exterior carries angular lines, LED lighting, 20-inch wheels, and a panoramic moonroof. The cabin seats five, offering synthetic leather, heated seats in both rows, ventilated front seats, and an eight-way power driver’s seat with memory functions.

A 7-inch digital cluster, large-format 14-inch display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and multiple charging ports highlight the interior tech features.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard, including Pre-Collision System, Automatic High Beam, Adaptive High Beam System, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Additional aids such as blind spot monitoring, panoramic view cameras, and a digital rearview mirror enhance visibility.

Each unit also comes bundled with a wall-box charger and a portable charger for home and on-the-go use.

Customers who reserved the vehicle said the shift to electric mobility aligned with their daily travel needs, citing lower fuel costs, growing charging access, and long-standing trust in Toyota’s reliability and service network.

The bZ4X is offered in one variant with pricing from PHP 2,699,000 to PHP 2,719,000 depending on the two-tone color option. Units are now available at select Toyota dealerships nationwide.
