The long-awaited MU New Dawn, published by PlayPark and fully licensed by Webzen and Kingnet, will officially launch across Southeast Asia on September 28, 2025, at 10 a.m., the company confirmed. Players can pre-download the game starting September 27 at 2 p.m.
The MMORPG, part of the iconic MU franchise, has generated high anticipation among fans. Its pre-registration campaign surpassed 1 million participants, with players securing exclusive in-game rewards and a chance to win prizes including an iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPad Air. The deadline for pre-registration is September 26.
Nostalgic features with modern gameplay
During closed beta testing, Southeast Asian players praised MU New Dawn for its smooth progression and nostalgic gameplay. Classic features such as fast leveling, AFK growth, massive battles, and guild systems are returning, while new systems promise quicker progression and expanded character customization.
The game also introduces free VIP benefits from launch, allowing players to enhance their growth and refine equipment without limits. Developers said the combination of nostalgia and modern mechanics aims to create a “rebirth of the MU legacy” for a new generation of Warriors.
Community events and competition
Beyond the digital battlefield, PlayPark is organizing community gatherings across the region, including guild meetups and casual fan events to strengthen bonds among players. Regional tournaments are also planned, pitting local champions against one another in competitive clashes.
With its blend of classic MU Online elements and new competitive features, MU New Dawn is positioning itself as one of Southeast Asia’s biggest MMORPG launches of 2025.
