Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), the operator of the Caltex fuel and lubricants brand, marked a historic milestone as it broke ground on its first service station along the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) on August 19, 2025. This development will soon provide a much-needed stopover for motorists in Southern Luzon.

The event was attended by representatives of Chevron Philippines and MPCALA Holdings Inc., the concessionaire of CALAX, who jointly emphasized the importance of the project. Once finished, the Caltex facility will be the first fuel service station on the expressway, designed to improve both convenience and safety for travelers.

Expanding Caltex’s reach in Southern Luzon

For Chevron Philippines, this project highlights its long-term commitment to expanding access to reliable energy in fast-developing regions. Pongtorn Tangmanuswong, General Manager of CPI, said the company is determined to keep building stronger ties with communities and road users across the country.

“We are proud to open the very first Caltex station on CALAX. This project reflects our promise to provide reliable, cleaner, and high-quality fuel that supports the evolving needs of motorists,” Tangmanuswong explained. He noted that the CALAX facility would set the tone for similar developments in the future.

Enhancing convenience for CALAX travelers

For CALAX management, the station represents more than just a fuel stop. It is part of a broader effort to create a well-rounded travel experience for motorists. Arlette V. Capistrano, Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management of CALAX, described the initiative as a step toward making the expressway more user-friendly.

“We are delighted to break ground on our first toll service facility with Caltex. More than just a stop for fuel, this initiative highlights our goal of offering travelers a safe, dependable, and convenient space to rest,” she said.

The Caltex service station is scheduled to be completed by March 2026. Once operational, it will support not only private motorists but also logistics operators and local businesses, further contributing to the growth of Southern Luzon’s transport network.
