Japanese pop band First Love is Never Returned (FLiNR) turns up the heat with Sparkling Summer微炭酸, their new single that hits like a fizzy soda on a sweltering day — refreshing, slightly stinging, and filled with memories. Infused with polished digital beats, a touch of R&B, and their first-ever live horn section courtesy of members from fellow Tokyo band Emerald, the track captures the sensory high of a summer crush.

The band, led by frontman Kazuki Ishida — who honed his vocal craft in New York — first rose to prominence through the POP OUT! III compilation and their Billboard Japan Heatseekers Top 5 hit Our March 僕らの行進曲. With Sparkling Summer微炭酸, FLiNR dives headfirst into seasonal storytelling, crafting a song designed for sun-drenched drives, twilight feelings, and late-night texts.

From headphones to highways: a sound made for summer

“This is our first time writing a song that really captures summer head-on,” the band shares. “Whether it’s blasting in your headphones during a heatwave or playing while you’re driving somewhere new — we hope Sparkling Summer微炭酸 becomes part of your scene this season.”

The song’s accompanying music video sways between joy and reflection, mirroring the song’s lyrical tones. Visuals blend motion and memory, capturing a sense of longing that’s both personal and universal. The band recently kicked off their second solo tour with stops in Osaka, Tokyo, and their hometown Sapporo — with a co-headline tour alongside Emerald also set for November 2025.

Sparkling Summer微炭酸 is now streaming on all major platforms, bringing the perfect splash of emotion and energy to summer 2025.
