Cancelled: ‘Salem,’ ‘Impastor’ No Longer Moving Forward With New Seasons

WGN has cancelled “Salem,” its witch-inspired drama series. The show is no longer getting a third season with a finale airing Jan. 18. Meanwhile, TV Land has also cancelled “Impastor” after Season 2. The show, which starred Michael Rosenbaum, aired its final episode last week.

“Salem is a fantastic show that greatly contributed to our successful launch into original programming,” WGN America president Matt Cherniss said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “We thank Brannon, Adam, our talented cast and our partners at Fox 21 for entrusting us with their unique and remarkable vision for the world of Salem. We also thank the fans for their loyal support of the show.”

The supernatural series, which debuted in 2013, starred Janet Montgomery, Shane West, Seth Gabel and Lucy Lawless. Over at TV Land’s “Impastor” debuted in 2015 but its star Michael Rosenbaum has no hard feelings about the cancellation. The show also Sara Rue, David Rasche and Mircea Monroe.

“We loved our little show and I know many of you really enjoyed it. It was a good run and I’m grateful to have worked with an amazing group of people. I feel very blessed. Again, thanks for all the support. I hope to bother you by promoting my next projects as they come along. Much love to everyone and happy holidays,” the actor said in a statement.
