GENERATIONS Takes on Its Own Legacy With Explosive ‘VIBE’
GENERATIONS is turning its own legacy into a challenge with “VIBE,” a high-energy EDM track that revisits the sound behind one of its biggest songs. The release arrives as the group prepares for its 15th anniversary year.
Released digitally on Sept. 28, “VIBE” is built as a companion to “AGEHA,” the 2016 track that became a defining song for GENERATIONS. The new single draws from that era while adding a fresh direction for the group.

The track was created by GENERATIONS member Alan Shirahama with songwriter TET$V and producer Kanata Okajima. Its fast beats and catchy hook draw from the dance sound associated with GENERATIONS and LDH while adding a contemporary edge.
“VIBE” will receive its physical release on Oct. 28, marking GENERATIONS’ first CD single in four years. The release gives the track a longer runway as the group approaches a major career milestone.
GENERATIONS Reclaims Its Signature Sound
The connection between “VIBE” and “AGEHA” is intentional. Confronting past songs is one of the major themes of GENERATIONS’ 15th anniversary, with “VIBE” paying tribute to “AGEHA” while showing the group’s continued evolution.
Shirahama has described the track as a way to use the sound associated with GENERATIONS and LDH while making it feel current. Rather than simply reproduce a familiar formula, the song adds new elements to that established musical identity.
That distinction gives “VIBE” a bigger role than a routine single release. GENERATIONS is using a song from its past as a benchmark while testing whether that signature sound can still carry the group into its next chapter.
The approach also fits the timing of the release. GENERATIONS debuted in November 2012 with “BRAVE IT OUT” and is now approaching its 15th anniversary after building a career across music and live performances.
“VIBE” Pushes the Visuals Forward
The “VIBE” music video adds another layer to the group’s attempt to connect its past with its future. The members appear in live action while generative AI is used to create the surrounding environments and visual world.
Dance remains central to the presentation, reflecting GENERATIONS’ performance-driven identity. Ryuto Kazuhara is among the members featured in the choreography, including a sliding sequence highlighted in the release material.
The digital launch also received a dedicated promotional push. GENERATIONS held a special LINE livestream on Sept. 28, with all six members taking part in the program to mark the song’s release.
The group also promoted “VIBE” through streaming and download campaigns, adding to the attention surrounding the new single. The release comes as GENERATIONS prepares to enter a major anniversary year.
For GENERATIONS, “VIBE” is more than a return to a familiar sound. It is a statement that the group can confront the music that built its legacy, reshape it for a new era and keep moving forward.
