‘Rizzoli and Isles’ Cancelled: Show Will Bow After Season 7
TNT has confirmed that “Rizzoli and Isles” will be airing its final abbreviated 13-episode seventh season this summer. The show features Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander as best friends who work with the Boston police. Their characters are based on the book series by author Tess Gerritsen.
“I think both ladies have had a really satisfying experience and sort of indicated that they—I don’t know if they wouldn’t do anymore, but they felt very comfortable, the producers felt that way, it’s had a good run,” said TNT honcho Kevin Reilly, via E! Online.
According to TV Guide, the stars agreed that it’s high time to end the show. “It felt like it was time, and we all kind of discussed it and everyone said yeah, let’s finish out 13 great ones and call it a day. We felt good about that,” Reilly stated.
Fans can expect the show to close with a romantic ending for the lead characters. However, the sixth season “Rizzoli and Isles” is not yet done as the show still has episodes to air for the second half, which will begin Feb. 16.
