MESA/Boogie has announced the return of the 90s Triple Rectifier Standard, a 150-watt tube amp first introduced in 1992. The amp is handcrafted in Petaluma, California.

It is available worldwide at authorized dealers, Gibson Garage locations and mesaboogie.com. The release follows the return of the 90s Dual Rectifier Standard.

90s Triple Rectifier Standard: Tubes, Channels and Tone Controls

The amp pairs six power tubes with three rectifier tubes, the combination behind its imposing wall of glowing glass. It was introduced in 1992 alongside the Dual Rectifier Solo Head.

The 150-watt Class AB power section is driven by six MESA 6L6 power tubes. A rear-panel Bias Select switch also supports EL34 power tubes, and five 12AX7 preamp tubes shape the gain structure.

Two independent channels offer three Rectifier voices, from Clean and variable Vintage high gain to Modern high gain. Each channel has Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass, Presence and Master controls.

A patented switchable Tube or Silicon Diode Rectification system adds more control. Three 5U4GB rectifier tubes provide the elastic response and sag of tube rectification, while the silicon setting delivers maximum headroom and attack.

MESA/Boogie Triple Rectifier Returns in Original Standard Dress

The amp comes back in its original Standard Dress. That includes a black chassis, chrome Speed knobs, Black Bronco vinyl, black leather corners, a black handle and a polished aluminum Diamond Plate grille.

“We’re proud to bring the iconic 90s Triple Rectifier back in its original style,” said Andrew Ladner, marketing manager at MESA/Boogie. “The two-channel Rectifiers defined a generation of high-gain tone.”

Ladner said the 90s Triple Rectifier Standard “delivers that same unmistakable character with the headroom and gain today’s players demand.” MESA/Boogie says the same Petaluma artisans who built the first run more than 30 years ago made the new amp.

The new build is backed by a five-year warranty. A one-button Channel 1/2 footswitch and a fitted slipcover come with the amp, which weighs 48.6 pounds.
