FIBA Dunk of the Decade: Norwood loses to Kazemi in quarter-finals
Gabe Norwood failed to advance further in the FIBA Dunk of the Decade online poll as Iran’s Arsalan Kazemi took home the best dunk honors in the Asia-Oceania bracket.
Norwood’s iconic poster dunk over Luis Scola, which happened during the 2014 World Cup, mustered only 40% of votes in the quarter-final round.
In contrast, Kazemi’s facial over a Greece national team center during the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament garnered 60% of the total votes.
In his dunk, Kazemi also flexed his muscles after the successful one-handed tomahawk slam.
Carlos Morais, Kristaps Porzingis, and Rafael Mineiro are the other 3 contenders who advanced to the semi-finals of the online voting competition.
