New AQWOL-5S Chamber Could Reshape FOPLP Panel Yields
WEISUN Industrial Co., Ltd. has rolled out a dedicated 310 x 310mm chamber for its AQWOL-5S Smart Clean Room and Inert Gas Oven. The Taiwan-based manufacturer engineered it specifically for single-panel processing on fan-out panel level packaging (FOPLP) lines.
The move tackles a stubborn yield problem: warpage and alignment error that grow right along with panel size during cure and anneal. Instead of simply shrinking a larger design, WEISUN built the chamber around the panel format itself.

Chamber Redesign Targets Cure-Stage Yield Loss
Warpage and misalignment creep in during cure and anneal, and both scale with panel area. That makes oven performance a direct driver of packaging yield, not a background detail.
The 310mm chamber holds 25 panels per cassette. It runs on the same process controls as WEISUN’s standard system, so there’s no learning curve for operators.
Airflow moves through an eight-zone automatic damper system, far leaner than the 28 zones the larger chamber requires. Fewer zones mean tighter, simpler control.
Temperature uniformity holds at ±3°C. The smaller footprint also demands less purge gas and less thermal mass to stabilize, cutting both time and cost per cycle.
Clean Processing and Smart Monitoring Round Out the Platform
Both configurations operate from room temperature to 200°C inside a Class 100 clean environment. Oxygen levels stay below 50 ppm, shielding PI, BCB and PBO materials from oxidation during processing.
Cooling comes in three flavors: air cooling with N2 or CDA, water cooling, or an optional rapid air-cooling system. The standard chamber still handles panels up to 700 x 700mm for higher-volume runs.
WEISUN also backs the oven with “W-AIMS,” its proprietary monitoring software. It keeps tabs on HEPA filter pressure, chamber airtightness, damper behavior and ventilation efficiency in real time.
W-AIMS leans on machine learning trained before shipment, then fine-tuned to each customer’s process once installed. WEISUN locked down SEMI E187 cybersecurity verification in late 2024, adding another layer of trust for fab buyers.
The company also holds ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification, no small feat in a demanding industry. Its client roster includes heavyweights like Intel, Micron, GlobalFoundries, ASE and Unimicron.
WEISUN showcased both AQWOL-5S configurations at Automation Taipei, held at Nangang Exhibition Hall 1. The system remains available as a made-to-order build through WEISUN’s direct sales channel and its network of appointed distributors.
