Charles Tiu calls Brickman, Williams best non-PBA Filipino point guards
Mighty Sports head coach and basketball analyst Charles Tiu had high praise for Fil-American backcourt generals Jason Brickman and Mikey Williams, saying they are the best non-PBA point guards in the Philippines now.
Tiu made the remark according to a recent report by Tiebreaker Times.
“Mikey is great. Bias aside, I’d say he and Jason Brickman are two of the best point guards we have from the Philippines not in the PBA yet. He’s international level for sure. I trust him a lot,” said Tiu per Tiebreaker Times.
Brickman, of course, is an ABL champion and veteran as well, and is currently playing for San Miguel Alab Pilipinas.
Williams, who has played for the Saigon Heat in the ASEAN Basketball League and the GenSan Warriors in the MPBL, will be suiting up for Tiu’s Mighty Sports squad.
He will joining the likes of Juan Gomez de Liano, Kai Sotto, and Andray Blatche as the Filipino club competes in the 2020 Dubai International Invitational Tournament.
Williams averaged 16.3 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 6.3 APG, and 1.3 SPG for the Warriors.
