WATCH: Terrence Romeo explains what happened to him and Nico Elorde, raw video
Terrence Romeo and Nico Elorde got a little too close to each other during their heated quarter-final encounter in the on-going PBA Commissioner’s Cup which San Miguel eventually won over Northport, 98-84.
Romeo got called for a flagrant foul in the 2nd half, and later on bumped Elorde blatantly as he got whistled for an offensive foul. The two remained going at it until Romeo was finally subbed out to keep his cool in check.
On his way out, the Beermen guard seemed to have flashed a middle finger gesture to Northport fans, reportedly Elorde’s girlfriend Mich Del Carmen and her family.
Romeo explained himself after the game, saying all that transpired were simply part of the game and that he needs to learn how to deal with such situations better.
“For me, sport lang ako. Walang problema sa akin. Lahat ng nangyayari sa court, iniiwan ko sa court … part ng game yan eh, may asaran talaga, part ng game yung may napipikon. Emotions yun eh. Nangyayari talaga sa lahat ng games yon eh. May mga ganoon talagang pagkakataon,” he said.
A raw video has also surfaced online which has recorded the sequence in which Romeo and Elorde have been involved in plays.
Game 2 is set for Wednesday, with the winner advancing to the semi-finals.
