Taiwan Expo 2026 Brings AI Defense Tech to Manila Amid Cyber Threats
More than 125 Taiwanese enterprises are set to descend on Manila this September, bringing enterprise AI, cybersecurity and smart manufacturing solutions as the Philippines grapples with a rapidly digitizing economy and rising cyber risks.
Taiwan Expo 2026 arrives at a pivotal moment for the country’s digital landscape. The Philippine Statistics Authority reported that the nation’s digital economy hit PHP2.74 trillion in 2025, accounting for 9.8 percent of gross domestic product and marking 5.4 percent year-on-year growth.
Cyber Threats Loom Large as Digital Economy Expands
That growth has come with a downside. As more businesses shift operations online, cybersecurity threats have grown increasingly sophisticated and harder to detect.
In July 2026, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas called on banks and other regulated institutions to bolster their cybersecurity defenses. The central bank flagged concerns over AI-enabled threats, including the potential for cybercriminals to exploit artificial intelligence to identify system vulnerabilities and automate attacks at scale.
It’s within this environment that Taiwan Expo 2026’s Intelligent Technology Pavilion will showcase solutions spanning the Artificial Intelligence of Things, edge computing, smart automation, advanced ICT, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure.
Featured technologies include AI-powered person tracking and facial recognition security systems, collaborative robots built for manufacturing floors, forklift safety systems for warehouse and logistics operations, and zero-trust cybersecurity frameworks designed for enterprise use.
Expo Builds on Strong Track Record of Business Deals
For Philippine manufacturers and logistics operators, the showcased technologies offer real-world applications in productivity, workplace safety and automation. Banks, corporations and other digitally driven businesses stand to benefit from added layers of protection for their systems, data and connected infrastructure.
The event is building on significant momentum. Taiwan Expo 2025 drew more than 10,000 visitors and buyers, generating an estimated US$53.4 million in business opportunities for participating companies.
This year, Philippine technology buyers, system integrators, manufacturers, distributors and corporate decision-makers will again get direct access to Taiwanese companies through the Expo’s enhanced Business Matching Program.
Taiwan Expo 2026 runs from September 17 to 19 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, bringing together more than 125 Taiwanese enterprises under one roof.
