Haptics, Adaptive Triggers and Neon Trim: Inside the GTA 6 Limited Edition DualSense
Two limited edition DualSense wireless controllers themed around Grand Theft Auto VI will launch starting November 19, and they are designed to be felt as much as seen. Molded palm trees, a color-shifting finish and neon purple trim run across each pad.
Sony gave players a first look at the pair during its latest State of Play. The reveal came out of a marketing partnership between PlayStation and Rockstar Games, and it arrived without much warning.

Both versions will be sold in limited numbers, with pre-orders opening on September 10. Each is meant to echo Vice City, the ultimate destination in Leonida when players jump into GTA 6.
The controllers arrive as the game’s marketing steps up. Rockstar Games recently debuted the first gameplay for Grand Theft Auto VI, and the November release date is now locked in.
A Closer Look at the Finish
Both controllers carry a shimmering, color-shifting finish that blends the tones of a Vice City sunset with the glow of neon lights. A neon purple trim wraps the bottom half of each pad.
The finish draws on bright days along the coast and vibrant city nights. That range is what links the two editions despite their different base colors.
The VI logo is engraved on the touchpad, and the Grand Theft Auto logo is etched into the back. Official Grand Theft Auto VI branding sits alongside both marks.
Palm tree details are molded directly into the controller and run around the grips. They add a tactile element that players can feel while holding the pad.
Haptics and Adaptive Triggers
Inside the game, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers respond to the action instantly and provide dynamic resistance. The stated goal is to bring the sights, sounds and sensations of Jason and Lucia’s story into the player’s hands.
The controller speakers are part of that mix as well, alongside the console’s Tempest 3D AudioTech. PlayStation has said Grand Theft Auto VI ‘plays best’ on PS5, pointing to features tied to the hardware.
Day and Night in Vice City
The white edition leans on Vice City at daybreak, with white sands, pastel skies and an easy sense of glamour. The black edition takes its cue from the city’s nightlife and the energy that comes with it.
Both share the same core design, so the split comes down to base color and mood. The two were revealed together as a pair rather than as separate releases.
Pricing, Pre-Orders and Availability
Pre-orders start on September 10 at 10:00am local time. In the United States, that means 7:00am PT and 10:00am ET on the same day.
Both carry a recommended retail price of $84.99 in the United States, £74.99 in the United Kingdom and €84.99 in Europe. The price in Japan is ¥12,480 including tax.
The white edition will be sold worldwide through direct.playstation.com and at participating retailers. The black edition is tighter, sold exclusively through that store where it operates, with select retailers covering other regions.
The store covers the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Austria. Players in Portugal can pre-order through playstation.com/store/hardware instead.
Ordering directly from PlayStation comes with free launch day delivery on eligible pre-orders. Quantities are limited on both versions, and the exact launch date and availability may vary by country or region.
No console bundle tied to the game has been confirmed. For now, the two controllers are the hardware players can plan around, and the window to reserve one opens on September 10.
