CiON unveils ‘Katsubo’ visuals for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Japanese vocal brass unit CiON has unveiled the visuals for its third single, “Katsubo,” released digitally on June 3 as the group continues to build momentum across the anime and music industries.
The song serves as the ending theme for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4, one of the most popular ongoing anime franchises worldwide. Since the anime premiered on April 3, the track has attracted attention from fans who have praised its emotional delivery, powerful vocals, and cinematic rock-ballad sound.
“Katsubo” arrives as another milestone for the group, which has steadily expanded its audience through a unique blend of brass instrumentation, live performance energy, and vocal-driven storytelling.

Music video boosts momentum
Coinciding with the digital release, CiON also unveiled the official music video for “Katsubo,” offering fans a visual companion to the emotionally charged track.
The video highlights the group’s signature style, combining dramatic live-band performances with expressive storytelling elements. It also showcases the evolving musical direction that has helped CiON carve out its own identity within Japan’s competitive music scene.
Following strong anticipation generated by the anime broadcast, the release of the full-length version gives listeners the opportunity to experience the song beyond its television edit. The track’s growing popularity among anime fans has helped generate additional interest in the group’s broader catalog.
The latest release comes at a time when anime theme songs continue to play an increasingly important role in introducing Japanese artists to global audiences, with CiON positioning itself to benefit from that exposure.
Collector editions attract fans
Alongside the music video launch, CiON revealed all four editions of the upcoming CD release, offering a variety of collectible options for both music listeners and anime enthusiasts.
The single will be available in Limited Edition A, Limited Edition B, Standard Edition A, and Standard Edition B. The limited editions feature visuals of the CiON members, while the standard versions include exclusive artwork tied directly to That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
Standard Edition A features a newly illustrated image of Rimuru, one of the franchise’s most recognizable characters. Meanwhile, Standard Edition B includes an original illustration of Mariabell, giving collectors additional incentive to obtain multiple editions.
Ahead of the CD launch, CiON also concluded its nationwide CiON BAND TOUR 2026 “Reincarnation,” with the final performance taking place just before the single’s release.
With increasing visibility through anime collaborations and live performances, “Katsubo” represents a significant step forward for CiON as the group continues to expand its reach among both domestic and international audiences.
