Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open extends registration deadline
Riot Games Philippines has extended the registration period for the third season of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open, giving aspiring competitors additional time to join the country’s premier grassroots tournament for League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Players and teams now have until June 2 at 12:00 noon to secure their slots in the nationwide competition. The extension opens the door for more Wild Rift enthusiasts to participate in a tournament that offers significant rewards and a pathway to international competition.
Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open returns this year with a prize pool of ₱1 million. Aside from the cash prizes, participants will also have the opportunity to earn a coveted spot at Riot Games’ SMASH 2026 event in South Korea.
The tournament continues Riot Games Philippines’ efforts to strengthen the local Wild Rift community by creating opportunities for grassroots players to showcase their talent on a larger stage.
Million-peso prize pool awaits
The champions of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open will take home the largest share of the tournament’s ₱1 million prize pool. The winning team will receive ₱500,000, while the runners-up will earn ₱250,000.
The third-placed squad will not go home empty-handed, as they are set to receive ₱125,000. Beyond the cash incentives, the tournament serves as a gateway to SMASH 2026, Riot Games’ cross-regional Wild Rift community event scheduled to take place in South Korea this November.
Riot Games sees the tournament as a key component of its broader Wild Rift competitive ecosystem. The event is designed to promote community participation, highlight local talent, and create memorable moments for Filipino players and fans.
“With the strong return of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open this year, we remain committed to lowering the barriers to entry for aspiring grassroots communities to compete on an international level,” said Lara Antonio, Regional Community Lead for Wild Rift APAC.
Antonio added that Riot Games is focused on building a more inclusive and engaging Wild Rift ecosystem in the Philippines, creating opportunities for players and fans to connect through competition and community activities.
Road to SMASH 2026 begins
The 2026 edition of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open will be divided into two nationwide splits. Split 1 will run from June 4 to July 12, beginning with group stage competitions scheduled throughout June and early July.
Registered teams will be assigned to groups that will be announced through Wild Rift’s official social media channels. Groups A and B will compete from June 13 to 14, followed by Groups C and D from June 20 to 21.
Groups E and F will see action from June 27 to 28, while Groups G and H will battle from July 4 to 5. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoff qualifiers scheduled from July 10 to 12.
The four best-performing teams from the qualifiers will secure places in the final community playoffs in September. The remaining four teams will receive another opportunity to continue their campaign through Split 2.
Split 2 registration will open from July 13 to August 2. Qualifiers are scheduled from July 23 to 26, with group stage matches taking place across weekends in August.
Community focus remains strong
The Road to SMASH playoffs will be held from September 25 to 27, featuring the top eight teams from both splits. The competition will determine which squad earns the right to represent the Philippines at SMASH 2026.
Beyond the tournament itself, Riot Games Philippines is planning additional activities aimed at strengthening engagement within the Wild Rift community. These include influencer-led tournaments, creator activations, and community-driven events designed to bring players together.
The initiatives reflect Riot Games’ continued commitment to nurturing the local esports scene while creating more opportunities for players to compete and connect with fellow fans.
With registration extended and the road to South Korea still open, aspiring competitors have one final opportunity to join Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open and chase their dreams of representing the Philippines on the international Wild Rift stage.
