KID PHENOMENON from EXILE TRIBE marked another milestone with the release of its seventh single, “Mirror,” on April 1, 2026. Managed by LDH JAPAN and signed under Sony Music Entertainment, the group continues its strong chart performance, with every release since its 2023 debut reaching the Oricon Top 5.

“Mirror” introduces a noticeable shift in tone, offering a more mellow and reflective sound compared to the group’s previous high-energy releases. The track highlights a different side of the group’s musical identity while maintaining its signature vocal and production quality.

Member Kensuke Sorematsu shared his initial reaction to the song, noting its nostalgic sound and how it complements the voices of vocalists KOTA and TSUBASA. His anticipation for the track underscored the group’s confidence in exploring new musical directions.

Mirror reflects Gen Z emotions and identity

The single explores themes tied to the Gen Z experience, focusing on internal struggles, self-expression, and emotional honesty. Written by Donguri Ameno, the lyrics capture the tension between outward expectations and inner truth in a digitally connected world.

Kensuke highlighted a line from the song that resonated with his personal journey, reflecting on past struggles with self-confidence and the desire to stay true to oneself. The message reinforces the track’s introspective nature and relatability among younger listeners.

This thematic direction marks a shift from the group’s earlier “sophisticated power” image, presenting a more vulnerable and personal perspective that connects with a broader audience.

Global growth fuels KID PHENOMENON momentum

The release of “Mirror” follows a period of international expansion for KID PHENOMENON. The group recently appeared at SXSW 2026 in Austin, Texas, marking a key milestone in its efforts to reach a global audience.

Earlier in the year, the group also performed at Thailand Music Countdown Live Special, drawing both in-person fans and a strong online viewership. These appearances build on their previous activities in Southeast Asia, including a 2025 performance in Vietnam.

“Mirror” is now available on major digital streaming platforms, marking another step in KID PHENOMENON’s growing global journey.
