YGG Play Summit expands Skill District to train Filipinos for Web3 and AI jobs
In the lead-up to its 2025 edition, the YGG Play Summit is expanding the Skill District, the learning hub inside its City of Play experience, to accelerate upskilling for Filipinos entering the digital economy. Designed by Metaversity, the education arm of YGG Pilipinas, the district will offer immersive sessions focused on earning opportunities across Web3 and AI, including workshops in content creation, marketing, community management and game development.
The Skill District sits alongside the Player District, Degen District and The Arena, and will introduce three major new learning experiences that emphasize jobs-focused digital skills.

Interactive builder programs and digital workforce pipeline
The Prompt to Prototype workshop will teach aspiring builders how to create games using AI, while the Metaversity Interactive forum will bring together industry, government and academic stakeholders to help students address emerging skills gaps. Meanwhile, Metaverse Filipino Worker (MFW) City — a talent residency backed by YGG Pilipinas and the Department of Information and Communications Technology — will reveal results from a pilot program that trained developers from the MIMAROPA region in the Sui blockchain’s Move language.
DICT MIMAROPA Regional Director Emmy Lou Versoza-Delfin said the programs align with national goals to grow digital employment opportunities, emphasizing collaboration across communities, industries and government to build careers in tech without leaving home.
Global labor trends also reinforce the need for rapid digital training, with the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 noting that technology will reshape the workforce, creating millions of roles while simultaneously displacing others.
Students from STI College – Bonifacio Global City and more than 10 schools nationwide — including UST, NU and PUP — will participate in the Skill District and its tech pipeline programs.
Three anchor sessions to build Filipino digital talent
MFW City brought together over 120 developers in Puerto Princesa to learn Move and build minimum viable products on Sui, supported by mentors under the Sui Builder Program. Two program graduates will present their work at the Summit on November 21 alongside Mysten Labs’ leadership.
Metaversity Interactive will convene employers, policymakers and students to map in-demand emerging tech skills and align training programs with market needs.
Prompt to Prototype, a four-hour vibe coding workshop powered by B3 infrastructure and OpenxAI tools, will teach up to 50 participants how to turn concepts into AI-generated game prototypes. The session will be led by Base Philippines’ Developer Relations Lead Ambassador on November 22.
Mench Dizon, Country Head of YGG Pilipinas, said the Skill District was created as a launchpad for real digital career pathways.
Aside from Skill District events, esports tournaments offering a total US$125,000 prize pool will take place on November 20–21. Industry figures from Ubisoft, Pixels, Sky Mavis, OpenSea and more will also host talks and panels.
The YGG Play Summit runs from November 19 to 22, 2025 at SMX Aura in BGC. Tickets and the full agenda are available through the event website.
