GITEX Ai Serbia to debut at EXPO 2027 Belgrade, boosting Southeast Europe’s tech growth
GITEX Ai Serbia, the latest edition of the world’s largest tech and AI event network, will debut at the Belgrade Fair exhibition complex from May 26-27, 2027, as part of EXPO 2027 Belgrade. The launch aims to highlight Serbia’s growing digital economy and connect Southeast European tech markets with global innovators.
Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and KAOUN International in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, GITEX Ai Serbia will showcase emerging technologies, AI applications, and investment opportunities across the region.

Serbia positions itself as a digital hub
Serbia has rapidly become a digitalisation leader in Southeast Europe, with an ICT sector contributing 10% of national GDP and generating US$4.31 billion in exports in 2024. The sector employs approximately 110,000 professionals, expected to reach 140,000 by 2027.
The government has invested US$82.1 million in AI development through 2027, complementing the establishment of the region’s first AI Research Institute. These initiatives strengthen Serbia’s innovation ecosystem and position the country as a regional benchmark for technology and R&D.
Marko Čadež, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, said the event offers a platform to showcase the country’s digital transformation and attract investors. “We aim to impress future investors with the capacity of our education system and present Serbia as a country offering significant technological opportunities,” he said.

The conference will feature 24 exhibitors showcasing Serbia’s most innovative startups and entrepreneurs, with applications across energy, healthcare, social media, and other sectors.
Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International, said the event embodies GITEX’s vision to promote cross-border innovation and collaboration. “By connecting Southeast Europe with global tech leaders, we aim to inspire investment, talent development, and transformative growth,” she said.
The event also aligns with EXPO 2027 Belgrade’s theme, “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All,” highlighting how technology and culture can advance inclusive, human-centric development in the region.
