Dialight opens new manufacturing facility in Penang to boost APAC operations
Dialight, a global leader in industrial LED lighting and optoelectronic technology, is marking a major expansion milestone with the launch of its new manufacturing facility in Penang, Malaysia. The official inauguration, scheduled for August 12, 2025, highlights the company’s commitment to investing in the Asia-Pacific region and expanding its global footprint.
The Penang plant will serve as a consolidated production hub for Dialight’s Solid State Lighting (SSL) and Optoelectronics (OE) product lines, combining both operations under one roof to improve productivity, operational efficiency, and supply chain responsiveness for its international customer base.

“This is more than just a new facility; it’s a strategic hub for innovation, collaboration, and growth,” said Steve Blair, CEO of Dialight. He is set to join Chief Operating Officer Rizwan Ahmad at the ceremony, alongside key representatives from the Malaysian government.
According to Blair, the Penang facility plays a vital role in supporting global clients, especially those in the fast-growing APAC market. The centralization of manufacturing will enable Dialight to enhance service delivery while streamlining its internal processes for long-term sustainability.
The move also reflects the company’s intention to scale its presence in Southeast Asia and aligns with Malaysia’s growing reputation as a high-tech manufacturing destination.
