Silver Medal Winners: Transforming Salt Production and Construction Materials

Three Silver medals were also won by Filipino innovators. The first Silver medal was awarded for the Continuous Screw Type Salt Washer, developed by the DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI), which transforms raw salt into high-purity products directly on-site, reducing costs and time.

The second Silver was given to the Three-in-One Mobile Salt Crusher, Washer, and Harvester Equipment, a technology developed by DOST-ITDI that efficiently removes impurities from salt, making it suitable for food industry standards. The third Silver award was received for Earth Board: Coir-reinforced Bio-Based High-Density Polyurethane Composite for Structural Panels, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional construction materials, made from coconut coir.

Bronze Medal Winner: HazardHunterPH for Disaster Preparedness

The Philippine delegation also won a Bronze medal for the HazardHunterPH: Systems and Methods in Conducting Multiple Single Hazard Assessment developed by DOST-PHIVOLCS. This tool provides instant hazard maps and comprehensive analysis for natural disasters, helping communities and authorities better prepare for geological events.

DOST-TAPI’s Role in Supporting Filipino Innovation

The success of the DOST-TAPI delegation highlights the Philippines’ ongoing commitment to fostering innovation. Through its Science and Technology Promotion for International Contest and Exhibits (SPICE) Program, the DOST-TAPI offers Filipino inventors the opportunity to showcase their work globally, facilitating potential collaborations and investments.

Championing Filipino Innovation for a Bright Future
