Filipino boxer assaulted, robbed in Baclaran, Philippines
A young Filipino boxer was robbed and assaulted early Monday morning, March 18, at the Dynasty Fight Club along Roxas Boulevard in Baclaran, Paranaque City, Philippines.
In a social media post by Antonio “The Crossman” Uy, he shared the unfortunate incident after four yet-to-be-identified individuals ganged up and assaulted him that morning.
Worse, Uy alleged that he was hit by a steel pipe twice in the head and the right arm.
The assailants ran away with Uy’s wallet which contained roughly $200 and P4,000 pesos as well as identification cards.
Per his recount, the incident happened as Uy was heading back to Dynasty along with other fighters at around 4:00 a.m. PH time. Uy was walking alone when an E-Bike allegedly hit him along Rivera Street.
The suspects claimed that Uy was accountable for the bike’s damages. Uy tried to settle the matter amicably but was suddenly assaulted by the assailants.
Uy tried to defend himself but was outnumbered.
“Bigla akong pinadapa at sinuntok na lang, tapos bigla na lang akong pinalo sa ulo, dalawang palo, tapos iyung pangatlong palo na-block ko sa kamay kaya ito iyung nangyari namaga,” Uy said in the post.
[I ended up falling and getting beaten and hit twice in the head. I was able to ward off the third hit, the reason why my arm ended up getting swollen]
Uy’s comrades spotted the altercation and immediately came to his aid. However, both were forced to retreat after the suspects warned that they were armed. It was later found that the perpetrators had no firearm/s in hand.
“Ingat kayo palagi, lalong-lalo na sa mga kaibigan ko palaging pumupunta sa Baclaran, iyung mga boxer, coaches, ingat kayo palagi kasi delikado, lalong-lalo na kapag madaling araw na, diyan na lumalabas iyung mga holdaper at snatcher,” Uy added.
[Be careful, especially my friends who frequently go to Baclaran, especially my fellow boxers and coaches. Be safe because it is unsafe, especially in the early mornings. That is the time when thieves strike]
The matter has already been reported to the local barangay and the police.
