NBA: Brooklyn Nets add Shamet, Clippers land Kennard in 3-team deal
The Brooklyn Nets landed the services of sharpshooter Landry Shamet in a 3-team trade involving the Los Angeles Clippers and Detroit Pistons during the 2020 NBA Draft night.
The Nets also secured forward Reggie Perry who was selected 57th overall in the draft. The Clippers acquired Luke Kennard from the Pistons in the deal, plus no. 55 pick Jay Scrubb.
The Pistons then got Rodney McGruder plus the 19th pick Saddiq Bey.
Some see Shamet’s addition to the Nets as an insurance if their other shooter, Joe Harris, walks in free agency.
Shamet has averaged 9.8 PPG in 2 seasons with the Clippers, shooting 40% from 3-point area. He shot 45% during the 2019 season.
