NBA: JR Smith officially a Los Angeles Laker
The Los Angeles Lakers have officially announced the signing of free agent veteran guard J.R. Smith.
Smith will effectively fill the spot vacated by Avery Bradley, who chose to opt out of the NBA season restart in Orlando later this month.

Smith has not seen action on the floor in an official game since November 2018.
He has been sitting out while a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers as he and management are unable to agree on his role and his demands.
Smith will reunite with superstar LeBron James, who won a championship with him back in 2016.
The 6-5 guard is a career 37.3% shooter from 3-point land, making him a good addition as far as floor spacing is concerned.
Smith tried out for the Lakers last February although the squad decided to sign Dion Waiters over him.
