FIBA Dunk of the Decade: Gabe Norwood dunk now in Final 8

Gabe Norwood’s classic poster dunk over Luis Scola is now in the Final 8 of the FIBA Dunk of the Decade online voting contest.

Sweeping past a handful of dunks from FIBA Asia and Oceania contenders, Norwood’s iconic 2014 World Cup dunk over the Argentinian legend is now up against Iran’s Arsalan Kazemi in the last 8.

In the Americas region, Brazil’s Rafael Mineiro is in a head-to-head match-up with Mexico’s Juan Toscano.

In the European bracket, Kristaps Porzingis of Latvia is squaring up against fellow NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo of Greece.

Meanwhile, Carlos Morais of Angola and Maurice Ndour of Senegal tangle up in the Africa side of things.

Should Norwood’s dunk be voted by fans to the semi-finals, it will face the winner of the Mineiro-Toscano duel in another poll.

Norwood beat Australia’s Mitch Creek, 84% to 16% in the 1st round before breezing past China’s Yi Jianlian, 77% to 23% in the 2nd round.
