FIBA E-Sports: Gilas wins 1st 2 games vs Indonesia in Day 1
The Philippines went unbeaten in Day 1 of the 2020 FIBA E-Sports Open with back to back big wins over Indonesia.
The squad composed of 8 of the best NBA 2K players in the country beat their regional counterparts, 56-29 in their 1st encounter.
Clark Banzon, a 2020 NBA 2K20 Global Championship participant, led the team with his power forward player.
Shortly after, Aljon “Shintarou” Cruzin, an 8-time NBA 2K Pro-Am champion and Custer “Aguila” Galas, the NBA 2K17 Asia champion, continued their exploits and led E-Gilas to an even more lopsided victory in the 2nd outing, 64-30.
The Philippines used their pressing defense and outside shooting in the 2K Sports games.
E-Gilas will now just need one more win in the best-of-5 series.
