The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reiterated its call to Social Amelioration Program (SAP) beneficiaries to register in the ReliefAgad app.
The app will expedite the distribution of the 2nd tranche of the SAP cash assistance intended for poor families affected by the imposed community quarantine due to COVID-19.
Priorities for the 2nd tranche distribution are the left-out families or families who were not included in the 1st tranche implementation. These families will receive the full amount of the 1st and 2nd tranche based on their respective regional minimum wage.
DSWD urged local government units (LGUs) across the country to speed up the identification of eligible validated and assessed low-income families that were not included in the initial eighteen million family beneficiaries of SAP in the first tranche.
As stipulated in its guidelines, the master list submitted by the LGUs must include the names of the beneficiaries and certified eligible or qualified families by the City/Municipal/ Provincial Social Welfare Development Officer and their local chief executive.
The master list will undergo cross matching and deduplication in the regional office as well as DSWD’s Central Office to ensure that the intended beneficiary did not received assistance from other government assistance program.
The final list will come after the cross matching and deduplication process at the regional as well at the Central Office,
The Department will issue Social Amelioration Card (SAC) forms with code specifically for the additional beneficiaries.
DSWD requests anew Local government units (LGUs) to post their master list in public, in every street if possible of their area so that their constituents can check the eligibility of the additional SAP beneficiaries.
The areas covered by the second tranche will be based on Executive Order No. 112, S. of 2020 dated May 1. These areas include: Region III except Aurora Province; National Capital Region (NCR); Region CALABARZON; Benguet; Pangasinan; Iloilo; Cebu Province; Bacolod City; and Davao City.
Albay Province and Zamboanga City will also be covered by the second tranche based on the Memorandum signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea on May 2.
On the directive of President Duterte, DSWD will lead the distribution of the second tranche of SAP with the assistance of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Since most of the distribution will be done through electronic payments, in a viber message, DSWD Spokesperson Irene Dumlao said that AFP will assist and provide security in the actual distribution of the 2nd tranche of SAP in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs), conflict-affected areas, and other identified areas. President Duterte in an earlier press briefing said that lady soldiers will assist in the distribution for they have the patience and the charm in handling people.
The DSWD urged SAP beneficiaries to register by visiting www.reliefagad.ph using their smartphone. Beneficiaries must scan the barcode at the lower right-hand corner of the SAC form to proceed with the registration.
After completing the enrollment, the beneficiary will wait for DSWD’s confirmation and announcement for payout as it will conduct validations to the submitted registrations. (DSWD/PIA-NCR)
