In response to the government’s call for assistance and cooperation to eliminate the COVID-19 threat, the Cultural Center of the Philippines joins other government agencies in rendering their respective services.

The CCP is sending some of its personnel as volunteers who will assist as encoders/barcoders in selected Mega Swabbing Centers in the Philippines such as the Palacio de Manila, Enderun Colleges, Mall of Asia Arena and Philippine Arena.

Likewise, the Center is allotting a space in the CCP complex, specifically the CCP Sunken Parking Area, for the installation of thirty (30) units of 40 feet container vans provided by the Department of Public Works and Highways. The DPWH converted the container vans into lodging facilities for the use of Medical Frontliners during their 14-day quarantine period after their 7-day duty.

“CCP would like to participate and help our countrymen regarding the fight to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus,” says CCP president Arsenio J. Lizaso.

COVID-19 continues to impact all aspects of people’s lives. With quarantine, social distancing and lockdowns, the CCP as well as other arts and culture sectors have suffered from cancellation of shows and events and closure of venues. (CCP)
