FIBA World Cup 2023 Philippines: Dates announced for grand basketball meet
FIBA on Monday announced the dates for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The prestigious event shall be held from August 25 to September 10, 2023.
That edition of the World Cup will be hosted by the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia, after winning hosting rights a couple of years ago.
It will be the first time the event will be hosted by more than one country.
Qualifiers for the World Cup will take place from November 2021 to February 2023. There will be six windows again for the World Cup qualifying stages.
As hosts, Japan and the Philippines are already qualified although they may still participate in the qualifiers.
Indonesia, however, has been given one condition by FIBA as it must prove competitiveness to join an international level competition.
