PBA: Nonoy Baclao signs with Meralco, reunites with Norman Black
Veteran PBA free agent big man Nonoy Baclao has been picked up by the Meralco Bolts, reuniting him with his college mentor Norman Black.
Black, the Bolts head tactician, confirmed the development according to an online source.
The 6-5 Baclao was the first overall pick in the 2010 PBA Draft, selected ahead of fellow Ateneo alum Rabeh Al-Hussaini and then Gilas stalwarts Rey Guevarra and RJ Jazul.
Baclao last suited up for the Alaska Aces although the latter seasons of his career has been cut short by various injuries.
Known for his interior defense and shot-blocking, Baclao may be able to contribute to Meralco’s frontline when healthy.
