PBA: NLEX’s Erram, Varilla suspended, fined 110K combined
The top-seeded NLEX Road Warriors’ journey to a championship took a hit Tuesday as players JP Erram and Paul Varilla were slapped with single-game suspensions on top of hefty fines ahead of a do-or-die game.
Erram and Varilla both figured in a late 4th quarter scuffle with the result already decided.
Northport won, 115-90 to negate NLEX’s twice-to-beat edge and force a decider on Wednesday.
Varilla was fined 50,000 pesos while Erram was penalized 60,000 pesos.
Meanwhile, Philip Paniamogan was fined 5,000 for hitting Christian Standhardinger in the abdomen.
Standhardinger himself wasn’t spared as he is to give back 5,000 for a hit on Kiefer Ravena, although it is still upon review.
