Munzon, Pasaol lead Chooks 3×3 PH to sweep of Jakarta tourney

The Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 squad swept the opposition to claim the championship at the Jakarta 3×3 Invitational Tournament on Saturday in Indonesia.

The Philippines’ 4-man line-up of Joshua Munzon, Alvin Pasaol, Troy Rike, and Santi Santillan beat the hosts, 21-17 in an intense final to complete a 5-game sweep of the one-day event.

With the score tied at 17 in the finale, Munzon converted a lay-up to push the nationals ahead.

Pasaol then cleaned a Munzon miss and was fouled; with Indonesia beyond 9 fouls, Pasaol finished the game by sinking 2 charities.

The Philippines swept the elimination round with wins over Malaysia (21-17), Indonesia (21-13), Chinese Taipei (21-9), and Vietnam.
