PBA: Blackwater’s Dimaunahan banking on Heruela’s championship experience
Blackwater head coach Aris Dimaunahan bared that Brian Heruela’s championship experience was one of the key factors why the Elite traded for the point guard.
The Blackwater mentor cited that Heruela, who started his career with the Elite in 2015, has been in the PBA Finals several times and his experience will be of big help in trying to turn the team’s fortunes.
Per the PBA website:
“We believe Brian has the championship experience to help this young squad.
We felt we needed another point guard who will stabilize the team. And in fairness to Brian Heruela, he has the championship experience already.”
Heruela became a PBA champion during his time with the San Miguel Beermen. He also reached the finals as a member of the TNT KaTropa.
Blackwater has been on a slump so far, only mustering a 2-5 record in the Governors’ Cup after going on a historic 7-4 conference in the Commissioner’s Cup.
Heruela was traded for Mike DiGregorio last week.
