PSC all set for Batang Pinoy nat’l finals
The Philippine Sports Commission is geared up for the upcoming 2019 Batang Pinoy National Championships in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan from August 25 to 31.
“The PSC is ready for the growing number of delegates that will take part in the games,” shared National Secretariat Head Manuel Bitog.
Around 10,000 athletes, coaches, technical and delegation officials from all over the country are expected to take part in a total of 31 sporting activities.
PSC has pin-pointed 10 billeting areas to accommodate delegations from the 234 local government units represented in the event; Sta. Monica Elem. School, Sta. Monica High School, F. Ubay Memorial Elem. School, Manuel Austria Memorial Elem. School, Sicsican Elem. School, Sicsican High School, Puerto Princesa Science High School, Palawan National School, Puerto Princesa Pilot Elem. School and San Jose Nat’l High School. Six other billeting areas will be prepared to accommodate the additional needs of the participants.
National Secretariat senior member Teresito Fortaleza reported that the PSC team is conducting a final ocular inspection on competition and non-competition venues for the national championships with Puerto Princesa City Sports Director Atty. Rocky Austria this week.
A Children’s Fun Run will be held on the morning of closing day, August 31, with a target of 8,000 kids participating from all over the province.
PSC Commissioner Celia Kiram and Puerto Princesa Mayor Lucio Bayron formally signed the Memorandum-of-Agreement for the games’ hosting last July 26.
