SMB Coach at TOPS
It will be another Thursday to remember for the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) as San Miguel Beer coach Leo Austria makes a rare appearance for the 36th “Usapang Sports” at the National Press Club in Intramuros.
Austria will talk about San Miguel’s successful title campaign in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, as well as the Beermen’s chances to complete another grand slam.
Also appearing in the 10 a.m. public service program supported by the Philippine Sports Commission, National Press Club, PAGCOR, Community Basketball Association and HG Guyabano Tea Leaf Drinks are officials of Team Liyab e-sports team and the newly-established Community Volleyball Association.
Team Liyab members Kevin Kio “Gambit” Dizon, Jeremiah “1717” Camarillo, Jervan Lorenzo “Bents” Delos Santos, Lawrence Anthony “Rubixx” Gatmaitan and Miguel Klarenz “Miggie” Banaag were picked to train with the national esports team Sibol in the coming 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Esports games, such as Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Tekken 7 and Hearthstone, along with AoV and StarCraft ll, are being recognized as medal sports for the first time in SEAG history.
CVA officials, led by president Carlo Maceda, tournament head Alvin Tanada and commissioners Salvador Cambay and Watamama Macalanggan will discuss the coming volleyball competition.
The other CVL officials are Sylvia Von Giese (Logistics and Liason Head), Dennis Abrina (Media bureau chief), Janine De Ocera (Social Media Head), Grace Gomez (Medical Head) and Jeng Gacula (Marketing).
