CDM Ramirez, DCDMs visit SEAG venues
Team Philippines Chef de Mission William I. Ramirez along with Deputy Chefs de Mission Stephen Fernandez, Mon Fernandez, Charles Maxey and Arnold Agustin visited the competition venues for the 30th Southeast Asian Games in Subic, Zambales and New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac on Tuesday.
Ramirez first visited the Subic Boardwalk which will be the venue for Triathlon, Duathlon, Open Water Swim and Modern Pentathlon, followed by Subic covered court gym that will be the venue for Sepak Takraw and Subic Tennis Courts which will host the beach handball and beach volleyball competitions of the biennial meet.
They also visited the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center (SBECC) which will be the playing venue for Muay, Pencak Silat and Table Tennis events.
“We are thankful to the President for supporting Philippine sports,” said Ramirez.
The group made its last stop at the New Clark City, which is now 93% completed according to Engr. Jerico Bondoc of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority and also PHISGOC venue manager.
The sports facilities at the NCC includes the Athletics Stadium and Aquatic Center which will be officially certified by IAAF and FINA by the end of the month as Class 1 sports venues.
“We will continue to update the President, through Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea and Committee on Sports Chairman Sen. Bong Go on the developments of these competition venues in both Subic and Clark,” Ramirez added.
Meanwhile, the Athletes Village which feature 525 rooms with 2,100 beds for the athletes will be opened on the 20th of November.
Other events which will also be played in North Luzon are Sailing, Windsurfing, Arnis, Sambo, Wrestling, Dancesport, Athletics, Aquatics and Chess.
A total of 530 events in 57 sports will be played during the November 30 to December 11 SEA games.
