PBA VIDEO: Chris Ross says Marcio Lassiter told him to ‘just shoot’

Following his tremendous performance which saw him nail a franchise record-tying 10 triples, Chris Ross opened up on what advice his injured teammate Marcio Lassiter had prior to San Miguel’s 117-105 Game 2 win over Rain or Shine Monday.

Ross had a scintillating 34-point night, a career-high as well as he tied Lassiter’s three-point record while joining Roger Pogoy, Kenneth Duremdes, and Allan Caidic as the only names in PBA history with at least 10 threes.

“Actually, I was texting Marcio on my way to the gym, and he was just telling me to just shoot the ball,” shared Ross.

“You get texts like that from one of the best shooters in the league, you do what he says.”

Ross added he was confident enough with himself, and having teammates like Lassiter also boosted such confidence even further.

Asked about being unable to beat Lassiter’s franchise record though, Ross said he is fine for as long as they win.

“He said, I should have gotten one more and (I) should have beaten (his) record,” he said. “I’m good with 10, as long as we win, you know I don’t care about stats … as long as my team wins, I’m happy. But I’m so happy to be mentioned with those guys.”
