WATCH: Justin Brownlee on scoring 99 points in his last 2 games
Barangay Ginebra stalwart Justin Brownlee has been on a tear as of late in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, scoring a combined 99 points in his last 2 outings–both wins for Ginebra (over Magnolia and Columbian).
The 3-time conference PBA champion scored 49 over the Hotshots, then beat his own career-high a week after with a 50-piece against Columbian.
After his scintillating performances, members of the media caught up with Brownlee, and the charismatic import said he has been feeling a good rhythm since last week.
“I just try to stay in rhythm. I guess I am still in rhythm from the last game, so I’m trying to keep it going,” said Brownlee. “Just trying to play hard. Columbian played hard and gave us a good effort. The import Lester Prosper was unbelievable, three-pointers all over the place.”
Dyip reinforcement Prosper had a big night of his own, scoring 45 points in what was a scoring duel for both of them.
Brownlee has been a terrific scorer throughout his basketball career, and that has led to many championships not just for Ginebra but also for Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League.
Brownlee also talked about their potential match-ups in the quarter-finals and their mindset.
