Anti-Doping Program For SEA Games at TOPS
THE 30th Southeast Asian Games anti-doping program will be the discussed in full during the 28th “Usapang Sports” by the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) on Thursday, June 27 at the National Press Club in Intramuros.
Dr. Alejandro Pineda, head of the Philippine Anti-Doping Organization (PHI-NADO), will update sportswriters about the country’s anti-doping preparations in the coming SEA Games.
Pocari Sweat Events and Marketing Manager Nelia Ramos will join Dr. Pineda in the discussions.
Also guesting in the weekly sports forum are Pilipinas Sambo Federation, Inc. (PSFI) secretary-general Paolo Tancontian, Chino Sy Tancontian, Patrick Manicad, Jedd Kim, Patrick Dos Santos and coaches Ace Larida, Jasmin Kim and Paolo Vitug; and National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) director Martin “Binky” Gaticales.
Tancontian will talk about the Russian martial arts of sambo and their newly-formed association, which was recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee during its General Assembly in June 2018.
Sy Tancontian and Manicad bagged the gold medals in the men’s sambo events in the 2nd Southeast Asian Sambo Championships in Kota Bandung, Indonesia the other day.
Gaticales, also a director of the Philippine Executives Chess Association (PECA), will talk about his plan to organize a nationwide event he calls the “Search for the Next Super GM” in the next five years.
TOPS president Ed Andaya of People’s Tonight is inviting all officers and members of TOPS, as well as friends in the sports community to attend the session sponsored by Philippine Sports Commission, National Press Club, PAGCOR, Community Basketball Association, and HG Guyabano Tea Leaf Drinks
