Chinese cagers to grace VIVO HoopBattle finals

Three star players from China gear up for a three-point shootout with Team Philippines in a featured event serving as one of the highlights of the VIVO HoopBattle 3×3 Championship Philippines Finals unfolding today (Sunday) at Market! Market! in Taguig City.

Jason Song and Camel Luo (Luo Yongxuan), mainstays of China’s KungFu team in the ASEAN Basketball League, and Young Sean (Wang Cong), a stalwart of Peking University and member of the 2014 FIBA 3×3 World Tour Beijing Masters, are raring to showcase their shooting prowess against the local aces in a showdown spicing up the VIVO HoopBattle finale starting at 1:20 p.m.

Eight teams, which survived the grueling four-leg elims of the event’s Phl leg presented by AyalaMalls, Synergies, Inc. and Vivo, will dispute the top two spots in the VIVO HoopBattle 3×3 Championship Grand Finals set in October in Suzhou, China.

The top two will also receive P200,000 and P100,000, respectively, while the top three teams in the China grand finals will get P3 million, P900,000 and P600,000, respectively.

The Phl leg is presented by AyalaMalls Synergies, Inc. and VIVO, the leading global smartphone brand, and backed by Capdase.

Team Ballers and Metro Star Realty, which ruled the first Phl leg at Glorietta; TriNoma stop winners Team F4 and BS Susim Shipping; Team Just Coco and Team Core, which topped the South Park leg; and Fairview Terraces stage winners Arellano U and Enderun will be divided into two groups. After the single round phase, the top two will clash in a cross-over semis with the winners clinching the China berths and squaring off for the crown.
