BEKO sponsors choral competition

Gloria Patri Singers of Our Lady of Fatima bags top prize.

Makati, Philippines – Sept 2017 – Beko, one of Europe’s leading and innovative home solutions providers, recently co-presented the “Himig ng Kabataan, Alay kay Don Bosco” Choral Competition held last Saturday, 19 August 2017 at 7:30pm at the St. John Bosco Parish Church in Makati City. This is the 6th year of the competition with the theme, “Parish as a Communion of Communities.”

The grand prize was won by the Gloria Patri Singers of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Don Manuel in Quezon City taking home a cash prize of PhP60,000. The Gloria Patri Singers bested other choirs from Metro Manila and nearby cities.

“We are honored to be a part of this musical competition,” said Dyeun Zapanta, Beko Philippines Sales and Marketing Head. “We congratulate the winners and we hope that this event will help the parish in its mission of promoting the SJB Parish as a Communion of Communities and improving the lives of the people of the community.”

The Coro Amadeo Choir of Christ The King Parish in Greenmeadows in Quezon City placed second winning a PhP30,000.00 cash prize while the Pansol Choir of Sta. Maria Della Strada Parish in Pansol, Quezon City won third place and a cash prize of PhP20,000.00. Special prizes were given to the Coro Amadeo Choir for their rendition of their original composition “Magdiwang, Magpuri” while the Chorus Vocales Philippines of Mater Dela Rosa Parish in Makati won the People’s Choice Award and a cash prize of PhP10,000.

Finally, consolation prizes of PhP5,000 each were given to the St. Anthony of Padua Vocal Ensemble, ICP Charismatic Chorale, Chorus Vocales Philippines, Catholic Renewal Choir, San Sebastian Chamber Singers and Dasmariñas City Singers.

Since 2015, Beko Philippines already doubled its distribution in the country. The company has also tripled its sales through its improved and aggressive product line that continuously meets the need of the Filipino market.
