Healthway Medical challenges companies to take on bigger steps to uplifting health, wellness among employees
Healthcare provider, to recognize “Wellness Company of the Year” in Asia CEO Awards
Makati City — May 23, 2017 — In line with its vision of ensuring better health among Filipino workers, Healthway Medical, the trusted and most preferred mall-based clinic in the country, urges companies to implement more programs and activities that promote health and wellness for their employees.
During the recent launch of this year’s Asia CEO Awards held at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Pasay City, Carmie De Leon, VP of Sales and Marketing of Healthway Medical, underlined the importance of putting more value on employee’s health and wellness.
“Health and wellness programs are important in ensuring better productivity of a company’s workforce. A healthy workforce allows for a much livelier working environment and in the end, positively impacts its bottomline by improving productivity, reducing absenteeism, and reducing healthcare costs,” De Leon added.
According to World Health Organization (WHO), the workplace emerges as one of the best settings for promoting health and wellness. This environment directly influences the physical, mental, economic, and social well-being of workers.
Under the Labor Code of the Philippines, companies in the country are mandated to ensure the health and wellness of their employees through pre-employment exams and annual physical tests conducted by their respective Health Management Organization (HMO).
Healthway Medical, recognizes that there are companies that makes the workplace an arena for health and wellness campaigns, apart from giving basic health and safety programs.

The nominations for the “Wellness Company of the Year,” as well as for the other categories, are now officially open. Any person may nominate any candidate or organization. However, the members of the board of judges of the Asia CEO Awards are excluded from nominating candidates.
