The cast of “Orange is The New Black” (OITNB) is currently filming its fifth season and one of its stars, Danielle Brook, says that the upcoming series will only cover three days of events. She hasn’t revealed when Netflix is releasing the new episodes though.
Speaking at the Screen Actors Guild awards red carpet, Brooks confirmed that OITNB Season 5 is going to another tense year.
“You better get ready,” the actress said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Get your popcorn, your tissues. I don’t know when it’s coming out because they don’t ever tell us but sometime in the summer.”
Last season was pretty heavy for her character Taystee because she lost her best friend Pousey, whose death became a major plotline for the show. She confirmed that Taystee is going to fight for this wrongful death and she’s empowered to do so because she has nothing else to lose. “It’s time to fight. I think — I don’t know! — but I think that’s where we will see Taystee go.”
Meanwhile, Brooks told People that she almost didn’t get to play Taystee. She doubted playing the part because it required her to be topless for her very first scene.
But Taystee has given her a career boost and she has received recognitions for it. “[The role] changed my life!” the actress shared.
