‘Castle’ Season 9 Secures Nathan Fillion; What About The Show?
Nathan Fillion has just signed another deal to return to “Castle” for Season 9. The only problem is ABC has yet to confirm if the show is getting another year.
Variety reports that Fillion already closed his deal with the network, but “Castle” is still in the bubble. If and when “Castle” gets a go for Season 9, Fillion will lead the cast minus Stana Katic. The actress was let go in mid-April and there are rumors that her character will die in the Season 8 finale that’s happening in two weeks.
“Kate Beckett has been a beloved character on our hit series ‘Castle’ for the past 8 years. We are grateful for Stana Katic’s talent and dedication to the series and we hope to continue our relationship,” the statement from ABC stated.
“Tamala Jones has also been an integral part of the series and we are grateful she was a part of ‘Castle,'” the statement added, in reference to another actress in the series who was also cut from the show.
Variety additional reports that the “Castle” renewal will be confirmed on the weekend. Last year, “Castle” also had to go through a negotiation process with its stars after their contract expired. Stana Katic was originally not supposed to return for Season 8, but worked out a deal in the end.
