When Prince William and Prince Harry came to visit the set of “Star Wars: Episode 8” they were the ultimate geek fanboys who played with lightsabers and got a hug from Chewbacca. However, they did not expect that the director would be offering them a part in the actual film. The sons of Lady Diana and Prince Charles reportedly shot their cameos for the next “Star Wars” movie.

“The line given was that they were going to have lunch and a private tour of the rest of the set,” said a source via Daily Mail.  “What really happened is that the director came over and told them it was time to ‘get suited,’ and off they went to the wardrobe department.”

Prince William and Prince Harry donned their Stormtrooper suits and was part of the scene involving “Star Wars” characters Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega). Benecio del Toro, whose character is part of the rebel group, was reportedly also in the scene. As the Stormtroopers engaged in a hunt and a chase, the princes also took part and played their roles.

“The Princes had a great time and could not have been more relaxed and friendly to everyone on set. It’s obvious they are genuine Star Wars fans,” the insider further said.

Despite this, Disney and palace spokespeople have not confirmed if the cameo is true. “Star Wars: Episode 8” will hit theaters in December 2017.
