‘Transparent’ Season 3 Cast News & Update: Caitlyn Jenner To Appear On Amazon Series
“Transparent” will welcome a new cast member when it returns for the third season. The show has added Caitlyn Jenner and her work on the Amazon series will begin next week.
“We are all part of the same community,” said “Transparent” creator Jill Soloway in announcing Jenner’s participation, per Deadline . “A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show ‘I am Cait,'” added Soloway.
This will be the first time the 66-year-old trans star and former Olympian joins a scripted TV series after having done reality TV shows for the most part. Jenner used to appear in shows like “The Fall Guy,” “Love Boat” and “Murder She Wrote” when he was known as Bruce, per E! Online.
It’s not yet known what role Jenner will play in “Transparent.” The series stars Jeffrey Tambor who comes out to his family as a woman. It charts the way his character deals with the transformation and how it’s also affecting the rest of the family members.
“Transparent” won an award for Best Comedy series at the Golden Globes during its first season run and Tambor and Soloway each received trophies for Best Actor and Best Director at the 2015 Emmy’s.
“Transparent” is expected to return for a third season at the streaming site in the fall.
