‘Die Hard’ May Get a New Movie – What Will It Be About?
“Die Hard” star Bruce Willis is said to be working on a new script for a potential sequel/prequel offering. The actor is said to be teaming up with Len Wisemen, whom he worked with in “Live Free or Die Hard” back in 2007.
“After doing the fourth one (movie), there were so many conversations that Bruce and I were having about what he put into the character for Die Hard 1,” Wiseman told Collider.
“That character comes in with so much baggage, emotionally, and experience. He’s already divorced, he’s bitter, his Captain hates him, and doesn’t want him back. So, what created that guy?”
The planned movie will be focusing on the story between McClane (Willis) and his wife Holly. The character was played by Bonnie Bedelia in two of “Die Hard’s” films.
This means the latest “Die Hard” will be set in the ’70s, when McClane was still a young police detective. However, Wiseman confirmed Willis will still be part of the movie. “I wasn’t going to do it without Bruce. I’m also not going to do it with Bruce being a cameo bookend gimmick,” he confirmed.
News of a “Die Hard” remake comes as its super villain from the first film, Alan Rickman, recently died.
