Singapore surpasses world record for most passes at Rugby Hub
Record effort was part of day-long rugby carnival to celebrate next year’s Singapore leg of the HSBC World Sevens Rugby series
SINGAPORE – Twenty-one national players established a Singapore record for most rugby passes in an hour by completing 4,002 passes at Asia Square this evening. This surpassed the Guinness Book of World Record of 2,336 set by Maccabi GB junior team in England in 2013.
The players cannot drop the ball during the hour effort and all passes must be standard rugby passes between players standing at least five yards apart.
The record attempt was part of the Rugby Hub carnival at Asia Square to celebrate next year’s Singapore leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, which takes place on April 16 and 17 at Singapore’s National Stadium.
Besides learning more about the 16 top rugby nations that will come to Singapore on their Road to Rio campaign, visitors to Rugby Hub also won attractive prizes like rugby premiums and tickets to the Sevens by participating in onsite games like the Passing Challenge, Who Loves Rugby and the Lineout Challenge.
ASEAN Para Games mascot Nila also dropped by Rugby Hub for selfies with the lunch-time crowd.
